The Northwest Intentional Communities Association offers no endorsement of the communities listed on this page or anywhere in any or our publications. You need to carefully check them outyourself. We do not verify any information communities provide us, we simply publish it as we get it. For more information about finding the right community there are good articles in the Intentional Communities Directory or in Communities Magazine.

Earth Rising Sanctuary
Northport , Washington
Posted On 10/7/2009, Last Updated On 10/7/2009
Earth Rising Sanctuary

Earth rising sanctuary is located on a beautiful piece of property in northeast washington overlooking the Columbia River and mountains of Canada. Seminars and healing arts gatherings are regularly held on the property for those who desire to share and learn techniques in the self-healing arts for the individual and the Earth. We are looking for more members who are interested in growing both on the agricultural and personal levels. Artists and healers are also very welcome and our space can be affordably rented by anyone interested in holding a gathering of their own.

Winter residence is available in the community building for $100 a month plus 12 hours work and a share of the expenses (primarily plowing and propane for cooking.) There is also the option of paying $200 which would cover expenses , no labor required.

We are also looking for an earth conscious buyer to purchase the neighboring 20 acre property for $75,000. This land also has stunning views of the Columbia River and surrounding mountains. Our neighbor is being kind in giving us a window of time to find the right person or group of people. This window may be short so if you are interested or know someone who may be please contact as soon as possible. It is crucial for the future of Earth Rising Sanctuary that the buyer be respectful of conscious natural living, healing gatherings and seminars and respect for nature.

We are an intentional co-op in NE Seattle. Come join us! Our home is hearty, vibrant, engaging, and conscious, established in the neighborhood for 10 years & counting, and has a sunny upstairs room opening come November 1st.

A few treasures include garden space, work/storage space in our mudroom, a fire pit, a handmade cob oven, worm bin, compost bins, and large upstairs common space (with a wood burning stove) - big enough to host all sorts of functions like building seminars and conscious film presentations! There is street parking, easy commutes on bicycle, and the 71 & 76 bus has a stop right in front of the house that will take you downtown.

We are a home with a living philosophy that highlights caring for each other, our community, and our earth. We take part in bi-weekly meetings to discuss house issues, enjoy sharing meals, share garden/house chores, food staples, bylaws, and goofiness.

We are looking for someone who is willing to contribute to help build and nurture what it means to be part of a co-op house, making a family out of housemmates! This means open communication, decisions by consensus, participation, plus love for sustainable living and that all members of our family have respect for each others goals, values, personal evolution, and what we can offer and provide as a house to our extended tribe throughout the city.

Room is $399 + food staples & utilities at $110
