Our 6-bedroom house sits on 20 acres of prime farmland on south Whidbey Island. The land is mostly rolling pasture, with a view of the Olympics, several acres of old cedar and fir, some wetland, and a year-round creek. Wildlife abounds, yet we are just 6 miles from the ferry and on the free Island Transit bus line.

We are 6 folks ranging in age from 3 to 57, with backgrounds in ecology, farming, international relations, holistic health, early childhood education, and old-time music. Our farmhouse is currently full.

Our long-term vision is a multi-generational co-housing community dedicated to spiritual growth, ecological living, organic farming, and a spirit of generosity and adventure. We are seeking like-minded, emotionally mature collaborators.

The community's founder is Karen Litfin, UW professor of political ecology and author of Ecovillages: Lessons for Sustainable Community (Polity Press, January 2014).

If you sense that our budding community might be for you, please email us. Please tell us a bit about who you are & what you are looking for.

HAVE LOVE & RESOURCES...NEED HELP AND ENTHUSIASM.
Youthful, active, politically and socially alternative (often radical) senior couple seeks a light-heartedly serious, alternative-minded younger family, hopefully with a child or two, to invent a sustainable urban intentional family, to help us develop, maintain and steward our unusual property in Seattle and to shepherd us through our old age.
We want to:
Create an extended family to express our parent and grandparent creativity
Share in raising the kids
Find the young legs and energy needed to maintain and develop our property
Model a sustainable alternative lifestyle to lessen our carbon foot print
Build the authentic ties to see us through our ageing and dying years.

We have the love, time, money, wisdom, housing, resources and a business, plus a heart-felt commitment to “live the change we want to see in the world”.
The property currently houses seven tenants and requires a good deal of maintenance. There are opportunities for creating more leasable spaces. We can’t do it all by ourselves.

The younger couple we seek are focused grown-ups who understand that raising children takes way more than two parents; that balance between mind & body, spiritual & mental, work & play are basic to a healthy life; that our consumer economy is a freeway running off a cliff; that recycling and simplicity are a way of life; and that our political system is of, for and by the 1%. You are practical enough to love working hard, building, gardening and playing. A commitment to self-reflection is essential. For us, we come to that through quiet, solitude and meditation (Sooz) and sorting nuts and bolts (Bill).

First steps are hearing from you, with a response telling us about yourselves and what you’re seeking.

North Seattle Co-Op Community House (forming)
Seattle , Washington
Posted On 4/30/2012, Last Updated On 4/30/2012
Looking for a place to live?
Want more than just a room for rent?

I am looking to form an urban co-op house in North Seattle and looking for interested people and a house for rent to call home.

Ideally we're combining an intentional community style of living with a co-op framework. We live and support each other under one roof, have regular house meetings to work out any kinks, stay on the same page, and plan out our community house activities.

We don't do everything together though ;p
Everyone has their own space/room and privacy.

If you support and seek out these values
you will feel at home.

- Sustainable living
- Self-sufficiency
- A nurturing environment
- An affordable place to call home.

Brief Overview:
- Located in North Seattle
- Garden space
- Outside work space area
- Shared meals and activities,
as well as cleaning and property maintenance work.

Please check out our informative website for more information.

We are interested in sharing our lives (and the beautiful 20 acres we live on) w/ several others (homeschooling families, single parents welcome) w/ a true passion for awareness, authenticity, sincere personal development, healing, compassion, integrity, invention and responsible, straightforward behavior. By ‘responsible’ we don’t mean unplayful or overly serious, but dependable. One large home on the property where we currently live complete w/ attached greenhouse. All facilities of the home & main spaces to be shared; other facilities, spaces can be constructed, w/ composting toilet and bathhouse priority. Also a large garage/barn w/ an enclosed woodshop area, & a high-ceilinged boathouse that can be converted. 2 Mongolian yurts available on a first-come basis would require insulation, floor & stove. Original owner put 30 years into soil development, compost building; large garden spaces that we are slowly reviving; many thriving herbs & perennials. Small orchard w/ excellent production. Diverse forest frequented by plethora of birds including eagles, ravens, turkeys, geese, hummingbirds – very vibrant with life here! Peace is tangible. Goal is to continue w/ building into a healing, spiritually-focused space for developing connected Soul Tribe. (Lots of great reasons for intentional living; foremost for us is Union w/ Self & Others). Intention is to quickly develop community businesses and food production so all adults can devote themselves to personal, collective & land development. Part-time employment may be required to meet your necessities in meantime; but open to working w/ resonate energies. Ideal respondents would have an RV, bus or desire to live in a traditional yurt, at least initially.

Do you want to walk, bike or bus to beaches, a food co-op, and the heart of a cultural and historic small town? Do you want to live in community of people dedicated to living in harmony with each other and with the earth?

We are a small-town, urban EcoVillage on 7.5 acres in Port Townsend, an historic seaport of 8,500 residents. We have a core group of a 22 active participants: 17 people, including 6 children, live on site now, with other members nearby. After several years laying the groundwork and putting in infrastructure, we ready to grow!

Five of the twelve 4,000 sqare-foot lots for homebuilding are still available for sale, and rental units occasionally open up for new occupants.

Residents share ample common gardens, fields, woods, a large 3,600 square foot shop/art center., and will build a common house once we have more members.

Structured as a Home Owners Association, our members own their own lots and the homes they build on them, and thus have access to mortgages, federal tax deductions and credits.

The lots cost $110,000. To keep the EcoVillage as affordable as possible, we offer some discounts and partial financing with a contract at 3% per year for those who qualify. This does not include the cost of a dwelling.

We offer tours once a month prior to our monthly business meeting on a Sunday afternoons, and can sometimes arrange for a tour on another date. Call us to arrange a visit!

Curious about cohousing but not ready to buy? Unique rental opportunity in shared condo.

I live in a 3bd 2ba ground floor unit and am looking for a couple (or single individual) to rent the 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The unit was remodeled 3yrs ago using eco-friendly paint, countertops, wood floor and cabinetry. Windows are energy efficient and insulation was added to the walls before new siding was installed. Asking $900/mo. This does include a storage space in a separate building and a parking space. Electric and internet is extra; average is $78/mo split equally amongst the three/two of us.

We are 52 adults, 9 children, 12 cats, 3 dogs, 31 chickens and myriad bees living on 3.7 acres amongst hazelnut, walnut, plum, cherry, fig and persimmon trees; raspberries, blackberries, elderberries, grapes, more vegetables (all started in our greenhouse from seed) than you can shake a stick at, perennial herbs and more. Our water for the garden is collected from the roof of our original 1912 farmhouse (which provides space for community meals and guest stays) and is held in a series of 5000 gallon cisterns. Not only do we share the workload of our land stewarding project, but we enjoy offering each other the support they might need to stay ahead of the challenges life inevitably brings. We have a community craft room, laundry room, root cellar, garage and movie room. The atmosphere is friendly and warm.

You must have interest in community living, ability to give 8hrs work per month and be active on one team (landscape, food, maintenance, chicken, children’s to name a few). Additionally, you very likely have a caring, trustworthy personality; like the idea of sharing tools, skills and ideas; have desire to grow and eat you own food; have a habit of listening well and seeing the glass half full.

I am female, like being social but need time alone to refuel my jets; express my creativity in the kitchen; make time for hiking, biking, back-packing and cross country skiing; have a particular curiosity for things related to health and healing; communicate with a very open, direct style and love to share fermented food experiments.

Seattle Southside Urban Farm Home Available
Seattle , Washington
Posted On 9/3/2011, Last Updated On 9/3/2011
In May I purchased the lot next door to mine, adding another 8000 sq ft of land and another house to my little southend slice of farm/garden home.

I am now at the tail end of remodeling and am looking to add more people to the mix!

The place will be available October 1st!

The rent will be 1100 (for the "apartment" version) or 1350 for the whole house. Utilities are separate. Pets are negotiable. Available on October 1st.

The new house next door to mine, has two bedrooms upstairs, wood floors, living room with a fireplace, kitchen and bathroom. This is the basic plan for all the homes on this block: they are modest 50's "war boxes". There is also a basement that includes is a den/craft room and a laundry room. The whole house rental would also include a large basement rec/office room. The "apartment" version would not include it and there is a separate basement entrance for that area. There are points for discussion about this room and possibilities really depend on a conversation with potential people.

The location is a walkable few blocks south of Othello Light Rail Station and Park in the heart of the valley between Rainier and MLK. Columbia City and its wonderful retail core are a light rail station north. My almost daily haunt and the the wonder that is Seward Park, as well as our local PCC are less than 2 miles up the lake and there is Pritchard swimming beach even closer. Nearby Rainier Beach high school has a track and there are tennis courts in another park 2 blocks away. The amazing Kubota Garden is truly the southends best kept secret and it is walkable as well.

I have been here 7 years (and 11 in the neighborhood) and I have spent time developing my lot in terms of garden and outdoor living... I love to garden and came to it first in terms of feeding myself, the stress relief, being healthy and being part of the amazing joy and education of the cycle of life. I worked on a Community Supported Agriculture farm for a couple years so this gave me more experience as well. When I arrived it was a bit of a blank slate but the bounty now is delicious and plentiful. Here is a short list of what was available for my table yesterday: tomatoes, potatoes, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, parsley, squash, onions, shallots, garlic, herbs, raspberries, blueberries, figs, plums, apples, blackberries. I also care about landscape design and beauty.. ornamentals, trees, and perennials/flowers... and am always adding and learning more on that side as well. I have a very large deck in the back and a big firepit which make for swell summer parties. I have a 10 yr old wolfdog who is a wise gentleman and a very wonderful companion for me in the hood. I also have thoughts about having chickens perhaps next season. There is a beehive on the property that a friend manages.

A bit more about me:
I am a social entrepreneur and my passion and thread that connects my life path has been community organizing and uplift... creating spaces for people to connect and broaden their vision of themselves and their surroundings. For the last 4 years I have been running a holistic fitness program in the parks for women (http://southsidebootycamp.com). Before this I founded a non profit and event called the All Nations Cup, and grew it for 5 years before passing it on to a new director (this is a 3 weekend cultural community festival that centers on a World Cup style soccer tournament featuring local teams representing the countries they came from originally). Before this my life was about the performance art/butoh dance/avant garde music world. I queer friendly (personally have been known to date on both ends of the gender spectrum, and I need true acceptance of that in my living situation). I have been involved in a progressive peer counseling community for 8 years and find this tool incredibly helpful for working on my "old stuff" and making relationships and life go so much better. Other active stuff I am into includes lake swimming, trail running, yoga, dancing, mountain/road/tour biking, snowshoeing, kayaking, hiking.. the latest addition being paddleboarding and am always looking for more friends who share the love of being in a body. I also take where I live seriously ; ) ... what I mean is I like to be where I am ... it makes sense to me to really live here and I make the effort to reach out across the barriers and fear that a very diverse block, neighborhood, zip code can present... this enriches my life immensely and hopefully makes the world a safer, healthier, better place relationship by relationship.

I am looking for some stable, silly, practical, serious, creative, industrious, open, zestful, happy, and evolving individuals or a couple who are community minded ... and not only like the idea of what people are calling urban homesteading (i am not too happy with this term myself : )... but are ready, able and excited to participate in a practical way as well. Sorry daily users are not welcome here, but generally clean living peeps that indulge occasionally works for me.

If some or all! of this resonates with you and you are interested in seeing my little slice of life down here and chatting about the situation please email me at jb08seek@gmail.com and tell me a bit about yourself, your experience, your situation, your needs, and perhaps your dreams.

We are a multigenerational community of individuals ranging from 5-65 living in a community started in 1973 in a turn of the century mansion on Capitol Hill. We spend a lot of time interacting in our common spaces by sharing meals, movies and great discussion, but there is also a lot of space for individual privacy and quiet.

The room we have available is on the 3rd (top) floor of the house. Please view the website for the Evergreen Land Trust (www.evergreenlandtrust.org) for information regarding our community and our sister communities.

We are centrally located and have easy access to Seattle University and University of Washington, local bus lines, downtown, I-5, local parks.

Our base dues start at $470/month with additional contribution for communal food ($180). Your final dues contribution is based on a variety of factors and we have additional charges or deductions for guests and vacation. If you are interested in pursuing living in our community you will get a sample of our dues contribution sheet, our policies record, and a general outline of things to consider in pursing living in this community from your community sponsor.

Though not technically part of a planned community, our 20 acres is on a private lane shared with the Evergreen Land Trust’s Walker Creek Community, and Maja Wood, a private planned community, southeast of Mount Vernon, Washington (near Big Lake).

Our property is 20 acres with two homes; ours and our rental house (about 200 feet apart separated by trees). The available house is about 1400 square feet, straw bale in-fill construction, with a high-end off-grid solar system and automatic propane generator for backup. Though a unique design, there is nothing rustic about this home. 3 BR, 2 BA, and a small “den”, a large mature garden space, and huge private yard. Wood stove plus a central propane furnace. Surrounded by woods, year-round salmon creek and hiking trails nearby, tight-knit family-oriented neighborhood that does a lot of shared activities.

$1,050 per month rent plus you pay your own propane and mow your own yard. Possible trade for up to $100 per month for help with shared property maintenance. Prefer a small family or responsible couple. Cats and/or nice dog okay with deposit. Must have excellent references.

Come Learn and Live Sustainably at Blue Jay Lake Farm

Blue Jay Lake Farm is located on Cortes Island, BC. The farm is nestled in Green Valley and includes 300 acres of surrounding forest and three lakes. These natural amenities allow us to be a self-sustaining, working farm that is off the grid. Our goal is to provide people with the opportunities and experiences to learn about organic farming and gardening, raising livestock, food preserving, and alternative energy.

We are primarily looking to share everything that this abundant and diverse property has to offer from the lakes to the hiking trails to our charming livestock and our amazing produce, but we are also interested in sharing the work that it takes to maintain the farm. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, open, hard working and independent, and are able to work in collaboration with farm residents. There are many ongoing projects, however we have a new keen interest in learning about growing and threshing grains, cranberries, pressing our own oils, and collecting hydrogen for power.

There is always a variety of people staying and working on the farm from Wwoofers to apprentices to casual workers and families. We are very interested in individuals or families who would like to share what Blue Jay Lake Farm has to offer.

I have a 20 acre farm in Sultan that I need to move on from. It's currently set up for equestrian, but it could easily be turned into an organic operation-- there's even an almost-new Kubota tractor and a variety of implements.

There are three lots on the property, so there's the potential for a small intentional community.

I can live with an extendable lease-to-own option that may provide a path for someone who cannot qualify for a conventional mortgage.

It's a lovely place that I've put a lot of my soul into and would love to see flourish through others.

Here's a link with some information about the property: http://www.cordus.net/12806/index.htm

We have house lots available at our community on north creek in Bothell, WA. We are intergenerational, ranging from small children to elders. Members share an intention of living a lifestyle that sustains a balance between individual and community needs and the natural ecosystem.

The Clearwater Commons LLC began in 2006 when a group of families purchased a 7.4 acre site on North Creek, 11 miles north of Seattle’s city limits. The site includes wetlands, forest, garden space, and salmon-supporting creek habitat.

We begin construction of the first phase of homes in spring 2011 building 8 of 16 units. There is a mix of two and three-bedroom townhomes and single family homes. We have seven families who are members, and nine homes to sell.

The inspiration for this community grew from founding members involvement in The Clearwater School located across the street. Our shared experience with the school encourages us to allow the structures for community meetings, gatherings, and events to evolve through our daily interactions.

We’d be happy to answer any questions you may have, or meet to give you a tour of the land. You can also visit our website for ongoing updates and events.

We are in the midst of forming a community in Skagit County and are seeking individuals, couples and families to bring their skills and joys to share. The Woolley Mammoth sits on a hill overlooking the Skagit River and Valley, five miles east of Sedro-Woolley towards the North Cascades. The house proper is GIGANTIC measuring in at about 8600 square feet, and has many varieties of spaces available for individual and community needs. We encourage cottage businesses and there is already a screenprinting shop in the basement as well as a small solar hot water business. Our sauna is up and running, and we have a solar heated outdoor bathing area (as well as indoor bathrooms). We have a flock of chickens, a few turkeys, and gardens are underway and developing. Perhaps there will be goats in the future. Much depends on the interests and capacities of those who find their way here. One possibility is for the place to evolve into an educational retreat center, focusing on the healing arts for body and earth. For those interested in living here, there are opportunities to rent space or purchase a stake in ownership. Rooms rent from $300-$500. Presently there is one couple with a baby girl and two single men living here.

Self-Reliant Intentional Community in Southern Oregon Seeking Stakeholders and Collaborators
Bly , Oregon
Posted On 3/11/2010, Last Updated On 3/11/2010
Where high desert meets pine forest, Southern Oregon at 4000 ft.

We have the opportunity for a shared-ownership on some very in-expensive 11 to 20 acre properties in Southern Oregon about 10 minutes from Bly oregon, 1 hour from klamath falls oregon, and about 10 hours from Seattle.

The 11 acre property is southward sloping towards a creek. A state bike trail divides the acreage. There's about 7 acres flat bare to the north and about 4 acres with pine trees sloped and stoney southward towards the creek. A creek runs about 100 ft south of the property border. Fremont national forest is a couple hundred feet from the property line. Water is about 65 feet down.

The 20 acre is flatter with pine trees. Water is also about 65 feet down.

Cost for ownership is approximately $1000 per acre. I only want about 2-5 acres for myself. We would find shared owners for the remaining balance of acreage. Drilling wells for water (water is about 65 feet down).
Purpose of the shared land:
residing, living simply off the land and closer to nature
investment for future
avoid paying rent or mortgages
working collectively to make decisions, possibly share meals
working together to build simple homes/cabins
fostering community among members

Possible ideas:
solar well pump for central bath/water supply
building with local materials of stone for floors and foundations
sunken vegetable beds
shared meditation/yoga room
shared audio-video media center with highspeed internet

What's expected of you:
Initial investment for your portion of land ownership $1000-5000 for rights to 1 to 5 acres. Then be involved in the effort of drilling (purchasing carbide/diamond drillbit , welding up drilling rig, water tank). Help with surveying, building some stone foundations and small walls, possibly a central bathing/shower and water center (maybe even small pool if very eager). Help with costs of cement and possibly transportation with truck. Digging of sunken vegetable garden beds, soil enrichment, nursery. Possible recruiting of other like-minded homesteaders who can help in the effort at hand. Paying your portion of the taxes at about $5-$25 per year (almost nothing).

If you are interested in becoming a shared owner for approximately $1000/acre and living simply in the high pines then please email with questions and let's meet to discuss this. 1 to 5 acres investment preferred so that we are all equal owners. There is the potential for dividing the lot into 5 acre pieces at a later time or if you wish to sell.

You can see location of the property on Bing at: http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2.00&&cp=42.598374846500555~-120.9102376922965&lvl=10&sty=r&rtp=pos.42.454805597662926_-121.50409385561943_Sprague%20River%2C%20OR___e_~pos.42.695625722408295_-121.12627789378166_near%20Yellow%20Pine%20Rd%2C%20Chiloquin%2C%20Oregon%2097624%2C%20United%20States___a_&rtop=0~0~0~&encType=1

Note, the bing map doesnt adequately show the property. See below photo for approximate lot and borders. See photos on the soon-to-be website. There's a plat map we can look at if you are serious.

Artists and healers are also very welcome and our space can be affordably rented by anyone interested in holding a gathering of their own.

Winter residence is available in the community building for $100 a month plus 12 hours work and a share of the expenses (primarily plowing and propane for cooking.) There is also the option of paying $200 which would cover expenses , no labor required.

We are also looking for an earth conscious buyer to purchase the neighboring 20 acre property for $75,000. This land also has stunning views of the Columbia River and surrounding mountains. Our neighbor is being kind in giving us a window of time to find the right person or group of people. This window may be short so if you are interested or know someone who may be please contact as soon as possible. It is crucial for the future of Earth Rising Sanctuary that the buyer be respectful of conscious natural living, healing gatherings and seminars and respect for nature.

This is an approximately 1050 square foot lower unit becoming available November 15. The unit has lots of light and large windows which open onto the back of the property and into the 26-acre greenbelt/land trust.

The floor plan is open with cathedral ceilings and large windows.

There is a large, full-sized kitchen with dishwasher, oven, range, and refrigerator. There is also a great room with a gas fireplace that has a nook area that has been used as a study, a yoga studio and a storage area. It could also be used as a small bedroom or playroom. There is a full bathroom on this level, as well as a stacked washer and dryer in a separate area.

Off the kitchen, through french doors, is one of the bedrooms. It has a large closet and storage area. It has served as a bedroom, meditation room, and play area.

Upstairs there is another bedroom with another large closet. It has a railing that is open to the lower area, which keeps it a nice temperature and allows plenty of light.

If you are interested, there are other rooms available by negotiation.

Utilities and the monthly community dues/assessment are included in the rent. Pets are negotiable with a deposit.

Pictures are available at the website under "Openings."

I am a lady organic micro-farmer --- grow for a CSA and wholesale customers in the Clark County, WA and Portland, OR area, currently on rented farmland. I manage about an acre, small greenhouse (hoop structures coming this Fall) and commercial worm beds (would need covered shop/barn area for these and other tools) and live in a travel trailer inside a barn. I have lifetime subsistence income coming in + whatever I can earn from vegetables, all the necessary resources and skills, but no lump sums of cash. Looking for kindred spirits, any age, who are already ensconced or ready to join lives with someone who is looking to settle down on permanent land where we can grow food for ourselves and for market, while providing personal support to one another.

We currently co-own with another couple and they have moved out. We're looking for renters in the meantime but eventually want to sell their half to another couple (a couple with one small child is welcome too!). We have one basement renter too.

The house is 2700 sq. ft., 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Large common areas. Newly remodeled kitchen. We have over .5 acre of organic, garden-able land, 7 mature fruit trees, a chicken coop (sans chickens but we welcome yours), outbuilding (aka music room and movie theater) and lots of storage.

We are 15 mins from downtown Seattle (probably faster by our new light rail!)

Since it takes time to get to know folks, as well as decide if this is the right decision for you, we're renting the rooms out in 6 month chunks so that we don't rush into a decision.

That said, the last couple didn't put money down, so the "buy in" is not high (in fact, all it ends up being is mortgage payment and utilities).
Currently the mortgage is $2600 (you pay 1/2) and we ask $1600/month to cover all utilities and house maintenance. We'd love a down payment for more equity in the house, but that is not required.
Please contact us to see the house, meet us, or ask any further questions.

Hardwood floors, newly remodeled kitchen. 3 total bathrooms (one would be yours). 6 month lease, but negotiable depending on your circumstances.

Three folks already live here, but there is ample room for privacy and large common spaces. Lots of storage! Outbuilding is used as music space, movie theater, or anything else.
We have lived in community for years and are looking for progressive, spiritual, fun-loving folks (would love vegetarians or vegans, but we have currently live with awesome omnivores).

Our family of four (mom, dad, and two children), recently purchased 8.5 acres of beautiful land in a very scenic location near Mount Vernon, WA. The land currently has a good well and good septic system, but it would be prohibitively expensive to bring in power. There is no dwelling currently on the land, but we are open to a yurt, trailer, straw bale house, or other creative homes.
We are interested in sharing this venture with another like-minded family, couple or individual in order to share expenses, work, and lifestyle. Your buy-in would be approximately $400.00 per month and preferably half of the solar/generator power system. We currently have an estimate for $16,000 for the power system. For your investment, we would explore legal options to protect your (and our) investment. We could share monthly expenses (such as propane).
The land would probably not support horses, but we do hope to have two to four llamas, goats, and chickens. There is also a nice area for a large garden. On the land are large cedar trees, a salmon creek, a seasonal pond, and a spring.
We are non-drug/alcohol users and relatively progressive. If you have a vision and want to co-create a sustainable lifestyle, please contact us. If interested in buying outright, the price is $82,500.

Lovely town home available for rent. Two full bedrooms; plus one additional
small bedroom that's great as a child's room, guest room or study; plus one
small room adjacent to upstairs bedroom for storage or study. Two full
bathrooms. Full kitchen, living room and some storage. Lots of light. Prefer
1-2 year lease but will consider monthly rental. Approx. 1200 square feet.
Rent: $1620/month. First, last, $500 deposit. N/S, no pets. Move in April 1,
earlier possible. (March 1 onward.)

Puget Ridge Cohousing is a beautiful place to live with many wonderful
amenities. However, first and foremost your priority should be that of
wishing to experience living in Cohousing as a lifestyle. Renters here are
expected to fully commit to and fulfill the obligations of being a community
member. If you have owned and maintained a home previously, you'll find
living here requires about the same amount of time and effort. If you have
always rented previously, Cohousing definitely requires more time and effort
than you might be used to. The biggest rewards in living here come from
contributing to and being in community with your neighbors. Renting is a
great way to experience cohousing.

Polyamorous IC group forming.

We seek to get onto land QUICKLY WITHOUT UNDUE HASTE. If you are more interested in discussing theory, other groups will serve your needs better.

Polyamory is the practice of being open to more than one emotionally close relationship at a time (sex accepted as an optional expression of the caring feelings), openly and honestly. Learn more about polyamory at http://lovingmorenonprofit.org and http://polyamoryhandbook.com, numerous other sites.

A polyamorous group does not mean that everyone is sexual with everyone else (orientations permitting), just that the option is there. Nonpoly partners welcome, if comfortable living in community with poly people.

We seek a rural area (but not remote wilderness) in the Pacific NW, ideally near Eugene, Oregon, but somewhere in OR or WA west of the Cascades. Seek to grow most of our own food, have own water supply, at least partially off-grid; probably have a few chickens, may have goats, sheep, llamas, etc. Not hermits; want to continue interactions with the larger community.

Function by cooperation, consensus, caring.

Seek people eager to be active--discussions via email at this formative stage; financial commitment to buy land etc.; then the physical and other work when on land.

Lurkers, control freaks and doormats, the socially challenged, and those allergic to responsibility need not apply.

Our youth contingent ranging in age from pre-natal to 14 numbers a dozen, several of whom are home-schooled. Our project completed in summer 2007 when most of us moved into our locally 'green' built homes. We have 36 eco-friendly duplex style units on 9 acres of land in sizes ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms. Three neighbourhoods cluster around our 3,500 square foot common house where we gather for celebrations, meals, yoga, arts, music and community meetings. Josh and Becca live in a huge home with a giant lot, and want to share our footprint and our life with others.

We are both communitarian with previous IC experience, including this new home which we own with another couple who are moving on to their next life phase.

This home is 2700 sq. ft., with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and numerous add-on rooms. An additional separate studio at 500 sq. ft. is currently a movie house, with attached greenhouse.

We love families, movies, food, big meals and cottage industry.

There are mature pear, apple, peach and plum trees, as well as a grape arbor and raspberries and blackberries. We have dozens of beds under cultivation and look forward to a permaculture redesign this Spring.

We want to be joined by a couple or individual who have/love children(none for us now, but trying), and want to explore living with intention and right livelihood in a sub-urban environment. Equity partner/s would be ideal, but we are open to multiple routes to property ownership/lease for the right folks.
