The house is located in urban Tacoma and hopes to be an educational space for the Tacoma community as to the possibilities of homesteading within the urban context. The house is beautiful and affordable (1500/mo for 5 bedroom house) with ample opportunities for planting, natural building, animal keeping (chickens and bees, oh my!), and whatever else your little heart could dream of! Housemates must all be committed to being stewards of this spaceship earth and building healthy, strong community within and for our lovely Tacoma.

We are a multigenerational community of individuals ranging from 5-65 living in a community started in 1973 in a turn of the century mansion on Capitol Hill. We spend a lot of time interacting in our common spaces by sharing meals, movies and great discussion, but there is also a lot of space for individual privacy and quiet.

We are centrally located and have easy access to Seattle University and University of Washington, local bus lines, downtown, I-5, local parks.

Our base dues start at $470/month with additional contribution for communal food ($180). Your final dues contribution is based on a variety of factors and we have additional charges or deductions for guests and vacation. Living in our community involves a monthly meeting, communal and individual workdays, budgeting and planning, and generally just taking good care of the amazing house we live in.
