Trillium Farm Community

We are an educational retreat center and vegetarian homestead located in a remote river canyon in the eastern Siskiyou Mountains in the upper canyon of the Little Applegate River. The canyon provides a spectacular wilderness setting for Trillium: 82 acres of conifer forest, oak woodland, and chaparral along the banks of the Little Applegate River, with gorgeous meadows, several ponds, and waterfalls along seasonal Birch Creek. Less than an hour from Ashland (theater, arts, college town) and Medford (regional commercial center), Trillium basks in a sunny rain shadow.
We seek members and partners to steward this land and live together in harmony and beauty, homesteading, building, hosting, and co-creating a life of abundance and joy. We are Susanna and Chant, a happily married couple, artists and teachers and activists.
We are currently expanding and renovating special areas for both member and guest facilities. Our land is abundant with water, wildlife, and gardens. We are a wildlife sanctuary, and we do not have dogs or other domesticated animals, though we do keep cats as long as they don't hunt the birds, lizards, or snakes.
Residential facilities are rustic and charming, with plenty of room for remodeling/building anew. The sites are off grid, with sunny southern exposure and sweet gravity-flow water. We live here with great appreciation for the natural beauty, giving thanks to steward such an awesome place.
For over 30 years, Trillium has functioned as a village. Current projects include finishing our cordwood masonry bath house and ferro cement root cellar, while continuing to refurbish rustic cabins for residents and guests. We seek new members and residents as well as interns for the coming growing season.
We are located in a beautiful, remote river canyon, surrounded mostly by pristine proposed wilderness and great neighbors. Our sweet water arrives by gravity flow from this same wilderness; our gardens are abundant and our plans ambitious for many years to come. We envision an intentional group of families and friends living together at Trillium, co-creating a sustainable lifestyle through growing food, hosting healing retreats, and creating community!
LLC membership allows the purchase of an existing cabin or site to remodel or build anew using solar electricity and alternative methods of construction. We can accommodate four or five year-round households with other seasonal cabins we use during our programs and retreats.
