| Our Vision Statement: “Heart On Farm is a small band of chosen family members with a heart connection. As a community we support and inspire each individual's physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. We aspire to live and be an example of ecologically sustainable practice through loving, honest, and compassionate communication.”
We are a community on 33 acres west of Eugene, Oregon. Our land consists of three housing structures, greenhouses, barn, storage bays, two large fields, and a pond. We have a small fruit orchard, and are raising chickens for eggs, as well as meat rabbits, meat geese, turkeys, and some sheep. The current age range is four to 59.
We have a monthly first-Sunday potluck. Current members’ interests include alternative energy, building, permaculture, farming, cooking, personal emotional growth, animal care, childrearing, music, cuddling, and fiber arts.
Network For a New Culture Summer Camp is the model for how we want to live at Heart On Farm. We find that experiencing NFNC Summer Camp is required to have a context for being a part of this community. For more information, see nfnc.org or check out Dieter Duhm’s (ZEGG) writings.
We recognize each other’s personal boundaries, honor those which serve us, and seek to transcend those that keep us apart. We accept our bodies on their own terms and we are not ashamed. We are all both students and teachers. Because we are learning and growing ourselves and do not claim to be the experts, we are looking for others who are self-aware and already doing their inner work. We work and play to reclaim and heal our spirits, our bodies, and the earth.
We use the principles of Non Violent Communication, Co-Counseling, Heart Circles, Human Awareness Institute, Heart of Now, accountability, mindfulness, transparency, undefended love, and inclusiveness. | |
