The Mountain Wildflower Community is located on 40 forested acres in northeastern Washington State about 25 miles north of Spokane, Washington. The property is off the grid and we use a generator for power when needed or wanted. Water comes from a spring located on the property. Currently there are two full-time members and two part-time members.
We are interested in living a community lifestyle formed around a rural lifestyle, living an ecologically and environmentally sound lifestyle, and are striving toward self-sustainability, both financially and nutritionally.
We have a beautiful view of the Selkirk Mountains, a large garden space to share, a large house for guests, many years experience living in the mountains here at 3000 feet, and much, much more.
We are not income sharing, an employment agency, living communally, or interesting in sitting around discussing philosophical aspects of life while the weeds continue to overtake the garden.
There is employment nearby (not a lot of it and not paying huge salaries). The land is in a trust so the cost of living here is minimal, depending on ones living habits. There is no joining fee but each member is expected to contribute to a central fund for equipment maintenance and generator fuel; and, of course, to help each other when needed.
Experience is not really necessary but a true desire to actually live and participate in community is.
We have many years experience living a rural lifestyle and have recently begun searching for others to share our lifestyle. Whether you are interested in joining a rural lifestyle community or in seeking more information on how a rural community operates and may be of value to you, please contact us.
