(house in a wonderful north portland neibourhood close to down town)
we are a small band of people who have lived in various diversley diffrent communities all over the west coast but found ourselves each placed together in a house by nothing short of chance. Our vision is to live our lives together so that we might bring about social change and personal enlightenment through contemplation and ecological awarness. we hold three over arching values. sustainability, philosophy, and wonder. we feel all of reality can be better witnessed through these three values. we share common meals, common knowledge, and common divinity. practically speaking many of us attend school focusing on the arts and humanities while exploring science and mathmatics. our mission is to have land in the country where we make technological advancments and deep and meaningful metaphysical discovery while in the city we have a house that reveals these discoveries to society and other communities. we are egaliterian and are taking steps to hold more of our lives in common. there is a balence in all this though. diversity with in unity and unity with in diversity. we must respect the need for personal solace and individuality for from that place comes the desire to share and be social. when we are social it drives us to make more personal achievments so that we might have new things to share. we have a strong focus on all disciplines including economics, politics, art, music, and science. we believe in the classical liberal philosophy that all humanity is truly free in one's self and what we give our full attention to we can achieve. when we come to agreement we are even stronger in a society of individuals. our goal in the coming years is to own property together contractually and should establish both a public entity in our community and a private entity for every individual. those who own with us will have both rights and responsibilities to uphold our constitution and benifit from those provisions it holds. a year from now we want to own a house together and be contributing individually eight hours a week toward community goals. in three years a forty acre land with ten hours hours of our time committed to comminty goals. in five years well established systems of agriculture and political action. in seven years a culture firmly built and capable of being reproduced in its many facalties by other communities in part or whole. along the way we hope to create family bonds, buisnesses, travel the world, and make a break for world peace.
