Forming
Between Two Cities
Portland, Corvallis, Oregon,
United States
***NOTE*** I do not have land and I am not in the process of organizing anything. I have found that many people share the same vision I have outlined below, but money, time and the other emotional investments people, including myself, need to overcome to create such a community are great. Please read and see if this is something that would interest you and if you are like minded and want to discuss this listing feel free to email me, but I am sorry for all who read and are disappointed this is not a functioning community (yet).
I am looking for other people who might share the same vision of a communal farm arrangement. Preferably somewhere in between Portland and Corvallis.
My goal is to earn a living through farming, creating a highly diversified farm, and giving members the option to specialize in various areas of the farm or help out where need be. This offers a diversity of work.
I am open to members earning a living off the farm, but some discussion on chores around the house or other forms of support would be necessary.
Furthermore I would like to see the farm flourish and be able to offer classes to the community, and also extend into the city by running a cafe or restaurant to showcase the fruits of our labor. and provide extra income, and second outlet to members of the community.
This is my dream, I would like to talk to like minded individuals who want to do something different, but not necessarily alone, people who do not want to escape the city or civilization, but rather be an integral part in its transformation to a more sustainable society, filled with greater opportunities to learn and find purpose through an honest fulfilling living.
