The Oasis is currently offering the opportunity to become a member of an intentional community on an established farmstead with 6 or 8 private bungalows.
We can provide all maintenance, fresh and clean water, food making equipment (sausage grinder, stuffer, smokehouse, crocks...), plenty of shop space and all tools, studio space and tools, power tools, machines, mechanics, composting, recycling, temporary living space until your home is completed, security, firewood, gardening, home and sustainable design/construction, home plans/ideas, landscaping and soon alternative energy. We can provide chauffeured transportation and vehicles also (several dependable cars, nice van, suv, flatbed trucks, pickups, tractor with bucket, canoe, classic 19' boat, classic farm vehicles and on-farm fuel tanks). We also intend to repurchase some land back to create a private airstrip. You provide the plane. If you want all-inclusive living we can also supply farm fresh, home cooked meals, beverages, and preserves.
Amazing place to work-from-home. Utilize the big buildings to process or manufacture items for sale to earn money. Or produce public and private events on the Oasis for an income. Plenty of organic garden space ponds for food and fish farming. Also great for travelers, as you don't have to worry about your house or possessions being stolen and everything is taken care of while you are gone.
Guests and visitors are more than welcome. Plenty of room for family reunions, weddings, parties, and concerts. We may build a large guest house/dorm if the members see it being necessary.
Located in the country six miles from a wonderful small town with a lot of class, less than an hour from I-90 and only an hour south of Spokane. Rural but not remote. The Palouse offers great adventure from biking, hiking, scenic tours, horseback, 4x4, and more.
The Oasis is 40 acres total (potentially up to 500 acres) of rich soil, unlimited fresh well water, and farm ground surrounding a 20 acre man-made Oasis with two ponds, a creek, large organic herb and vegetable gardens, mature trees, abundant wildlife, large lawns, campfire pits, one acre lawn amphitheater and stage, south-facing hills for sustainable building, and several buildings (large barn, large machine shed, shop, pottery studio, outbuildings). Members will own their houses but not the land it is on, and will be able to sell their houses if they choose to move, but new tenant will have to be agreed upon by existing members.
Membership costs are negotiable, but in order to provide new construction, goods and services, it may be rather costly, up to $50,000 for full use and benefits. It may be decided that the space may be rented annually or monthly. It may be paid in smaller increments over an agreed duration of time with interest. Minimum payments are negotiable depending on how many members are living here. An annual cost pool (around $2400 if there are 8 members) will be required for continued goods, foods, property and material/tool usage, vehicle usage and general services including insurance, electricity, and recycling.
If you want to be a part of establishing and creating an intentional community from the ground up on an already established property, please contact us at your earliest convenience. Remember, we just started offering this opportunity, so any critique is helpful (as long as it is positive) and let me know if I have made any errors. Having an established property will make living and building an intentional community much more enjoyable and easier. You can visit the current website at www.inwoasis.com.
